Match.com holds the Guinness World Record for the World's Largest Online Dating Website. The site was the pioneer of online personals.

The Australian section of match.com was rated #1 Personals site in Australia by Nielsen/NetRatings in April 2006.

The site is for those looking for a serious relationship with that special someone, and claims to have been responsible for twice as many marriages as any other online singles site.

Areas serviced: All States in Australia

Relationships catered for:

Singles only.
Heterosexual, male-male, female-female.

The Positive:

  • free to join
  • normal, everyday people
  • compatibility - when viewing a profile, displays side by side comparison of profiles that gives a detailed lists of items that match.
  • search can be narrowed to a specified number of kilometers from your suburb

The Negative:

  • no online chat, eMagazine or community noticeboard

The Verdict:

Match.com caters excellently for those looking for a serious, long term relationship. The mutual and reverse searches which allow you to find those who are looking for you are unique to match.com, very powerful and timesaving.

The site concentrates purely on search and profile matching, without the frills of other sites such as online chat and eMagazines. But it does it very effectively, and stands out due to the power of it's search options.
